Role in ECOPRODIGI: Leads the whole project through the Pan-European Institute, a research unit of Turku School of Economics. Acts as the project coordinator and financial administrator. Collects data on progress of assessments and pilots, complies ideas on best practices in collaborations, syntheses work on all three technological cases. Another unit of the University of Turku, the Brahea Centre, Centre for Maritime Studies leads the work in WP 5 together with Centrum Balticum.

Aalborg University takes pride in ensuring that all its degree programmes and research activities are problem-, and project-based, and have an interdisciplinary focus. They invest in strong collaboration with public and private sectors aiming to give their students a ‘real-world approach’.

Role in ECOPRODIGI: Aalborg acts as a Work Package leader for WP 2 and 3, together with Chalmers University of Technology.  They are also responsible of documenting the assessment process, providing information to further WPs in terms of best practices. Together with other partners, they will:

  • Study the possibilities of internal data utilisation on-board for enhancing vessel performance
  • Design and pilot digital vessel performance optimisation tools at Lauritzen and and Island ferries vessel contexts
  • Pilot big data based tools and test 3D scanning possibilities particularly in the DFDS stowage operations

Role in ECOPRODIGI: Centrum Balticum is responsible for the overall communications of ECOPRODIGI. They also lead the Work Package 5 with the University of Turku, strengthening public support for maritime industry digitalisation. In particular, Centrum Balticum is responsible for organising policy workshops during the project.

Danish Maritime

Danish Maritime is the meeting place for Danish manufacturers of maritime equipment and ships. One of their most important tasks is to contribute to the continuous success and global competitiveness of the Danish maritime industry by promoting favourable conditions for the Danish maritime industry.

Role in ECOPRODIGI: Danish Maritime will, among other tasks, facilitate the scenario work and roadmapping conducted in workshops with industry end-user partners.

Polish Maritime Cluster is a key maritime cluster in Central and Eastern Europe, an active maritime cluster player in the Baltic Sea Region and the EU, as well as a member of the European Network of Maritime Clusters, UN Global Compact and European Cluster Collaboration platform. Role in ECOPRODIGI: Plays an important role transferring the needs of the Polish industry actors to the project consortium and vice versa, spreading message of the project outcomes to their members.
